Mayor SCHAEFER welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Deputy Mayor Smith shared that he called the non emergency OPP line for excessive speeding, and spoke with dispatch to file a report. When multiple reports and complaints are received, the area is added to their patrol area. He would like to spread the word to residents that it is important to call the non-emergency line and make these reports so that OPP has this information.
Councillor Jeremy Smith noted that he had the opportunity to attend the Purple Bench Campaign, Bench Unveiling Ceremony in Blandford Blenheim, and hopes to see the same turnout at our official unveiling on December 4, 2024 at 1:30pm. Councillor Smith shared the history of the campaign, inspired by Barbara Baillie, a victim of domestic violence in Nova Scotia. The local campaign has been organized by DASO, Ingamo Homes and DART. The benches have all been donated by Magland Site Furniture in Woodstock.
Councillor Smith also shared that the Village of Innerkip has come a light with the sites of the season, as the light standards have been adorned with holiday lights. The inaugural holiday market will be November 23rd at the Innerkip Central School. The 15th Annual Santa Claus Parade is Saturday December 14th.
